Crock Pot Red Beans and Rice Recipe

I told you that Red Beans and Rice was really easy to make in a crock pot and really yummy.  Well, I thought I would elaborate on that just a bit.

Ingredients:
1lb bag Red Beans (kidney beans)
1lb Sausage (any)
Onions, if you wish
Season to taste

I start the beans early in the morning.  I usually triple this recipe, mainly because I get the sausage I use in 3lb packs, so I use 3 packs of beans.  I pour the beans into the crock pot, fill it with plenty of water, and add seasonings to the water.  I let it cook on high all day, adding the sausage a couple hours before we wish to eat, but they can be added sooner--at the beginning even if you wish.  *If the beans look like they have soaked up all the water, just add more*

That's it!  Serve over fresh rice.  We always have this meal with cornbread, also.  Louisiana tradition.
