Todays Shopping Part 2: Tom Thumb

The second place I went today was Tom Thumb.  I had told you about the huge mix and match sale they have going on right now (I have heard I will last another week, but I won't get the ad until tomorrow mornings paper to be able to verify that).  I also told you that any item over the 8 is an additional $0.50 savings.  Basically, once you get to the 8 items, you get all of the items for the sale price listed.

With that in mind, I did something today that I haven't done in a LONG time.  I took my entire coupon binder with me and I walked up and down every aisle of the store looking for those  mix and match sale stickers.  I found several items that I would never have thought to look for this way.

One item of note are the 3-4 roll packs of Rolaids.  They are $1.49 after the sale price.  I bought 2 of those, and was able to use the $4/2 from this Sunday's paper (its the same one I talked about in the last CVS post, so if you only have one, choose carefully..it can be used on several brands).  After the coupon, I actually made $1.02.

Alot of my savings today came from e-coupons.  If you don't know what those are, or how they work, you can read my page about them.

As a rolled my really full cart up to the register, I was kinda nervous because I hadn't been keeping track of the total as I threw stuff in, and I hadn't gone in with a planned list like I normally do.  However, I was astounded when the manager who was ringing me up got to the bottom of my stack of coupons.

Here is everything I got today.  You can click on the photo to enlarge it.

Shelf Price:  $87.55
Sale Price:   $50.39
Total After Coupons:  $11.20
