The End Of The Month Is Near: Get Your Coupons Now!

I just wanted to remind you guys that the end of the month was quickly approaching.  If you haven't been over to coupons.com in a while, head over there and see if there are any coupons you may wish to print.  There is no guarantee that they will still be available when April rolls around, so go get them while you still can.

Also, make sure you go and load up any e-coupons you wish to get from cellfire.com and shortcuts.com.

There has been some controversy over e-coupons being accepted along with paper coupons at Kroger lately.  I did not actually buy any items that I had e-coupons for on my last Kroger trip, so I do not have any answers as to how they are working at my store.  From what I have been hearing, the e-coupon will come off first and make the paper coupon beep.  They will not be able to take the e-coupon off (which of course will not double), and also not be able to take the paper coupon (which would have doubled), so you may get cheated out of a multiplied coupon.

Some are saying that they are still working fine at their stores, while others are having problems.  Most people are suggesting that if you have e-coupons loaded to your card, that you hand over your coupons first before scanning your card.  The coupons will not initially multiply, but once the card is scanned they will all multiply at once.  This will make it harder to see if they double correctly, but it solves the problem with the e-coupons preventing the paper ones from scanning.

Like I said, I am only reporting what I've read in multiple places online.  If you have first hand experience with this, leave a comment for us and please let us know what state you are in.  Thanks!

Hey new to couponing at all but this morning I was at roger and I had both paper and ecoupons and cashier scanned my card first. Then when I handed her coupons she said they were same ones on card and can't use them. I live in Houston tx. I didn't know if the ecoupons were manufacture ones or not-I thought they were just from roger so I thought I could use that and paper ones from manufacturer. Please tell me how to do this-I could have saved $6 more if she scanned paper ones too but I did save $13 total.

Thanks for telling me your experience. That helps me understand better, and you aren't far from here. I'm in the Dallas area.

The e-coupons from cellfire and shortcuts are manufacturer coupons, and they aren't supposed to stack with paper coupons. But since they do not double the way paper coupons do, then they aren't as good.

Their computer system had never prevented them stacking in the past(in many places it did, but here it hadn't), but now it apparently is. But it seems to me they still have some kinks to work out and I expect them to have it resolved soon. I don't know if you have a Tom Thumb store over there, but at Tom Thumb the e-coupon will come off first, but then if you have a paper coupon that it better it automatically puts the e-coupon back on and takes the paper one. If the e-coupon is better then the paper one will beep. I like that set up very much. I hope Kroger can quickly figure out something like that, or allow the e-coupons to multiply.

My only suggestion right now would be to either hand your card in after the coupons, which i don't even like to suggest because then you can't see if things are ringing up right.

Another option would be to remove the coupons from your card, if possible, or just take that card out of the system on those two sites.

The ones I am still confused about though are the e-coupons that you can load from the Kroger website itself. I have heard in some places that they were store coupons and would stack, and in other places that they were manufacturer coupons and would not. Were any of yours from the kroger site?

I hope that helps. It is such a new thing that I think we are all trying to figure out how it is going to end up working. If it ends up being too much of a problem, I may just remove my card number from shortcuts altogether and only load them up on the Tom Thumb card at cellfire. The ones on those sites are usually identical to most paper coupons, so i don't think I'd be missing out on anything that way.

Now I have a friend who is very pregnant and her husband has been doing the shopping, so she loads up all the e-coupons so he will still save something ;)

$13 is great savings in one trip! Good job.

That's another blog post I just read on the subject, too.
