CVS Trip 4/3

Today's CVS trip totally made up for the one I made last night.  It's pretty funny because the reason I had gone last night to try to snag those deals was mostly because after glancing through this week's ad a few days ago, I didn't think there were many good deals.  I turned out to be very wrong about that.  Some of the coupons I used were from P&G mailers that I had gotten in the past few months (not from the paper), so you may or may not have them.

Here is what I got:

Shelf Price:  $51.38
Sale Price:   $37.44
Price Paid After Coupons, Including my $4/$20:    $15.16
Price Paid After $14.49 in ECBs + tax:    $0.72 for a Savings of 99%  and I received $16.98 in ECBs.

Here is how I did it:
--Dawn  $0.99  -  $1/1 from PG Home Mailer
--Puffs  $0.87  -   $0.50/1 from PG Home Mailer
--Gold Bond Body Wash  $5.88  -  $2/1 from this morning's paper.   Got Back $3 ECBs
--2 Right Guard Body Wash  @ $3.88 each.  Used BOGO from 3/13 RP.  Got Back $3 ECBs.
--2 Pantene @ 2 for $6.97.  Used 2 $2/1 from PG Home Mailer.  Got back $2 ECBs.
--G.U.M. Flossers  $2.  No Coupon.  Got back $2 ECBs.
--2 Oral B Toothbrushes @$2.99 each.  Used BOGO from 3/13 RP AND $1/1 from PG Home Mailer.  Got back $0.99 each, (limit 2), so $1.98 ECBs.
--Crest (Rinse and Toothpaste) @ $3.49 each.  Used $1/1 toothpaste from today's P&G, and $1/1 Rinse from a PG Home Mailer.  Got back $2.50 ECBs each for $5 total (limit 2).

I should have ended up paying around $2, but the same cashier was there, and even though I pointed out the items that I had BOGOs for in the ad that was sitting on the counter right next to her, and read her the prices, she *still* took off too much for them, so I certainly don't feel bad about it this time.  I mean, what else can I do?

If you have the P&G Mailers from the free offers and rebates from the past few months, then you may be able to get in on some of these great deals as well.  If you don't there are still lower value alternatives to all of the coupons I used in this morning's P&G insert.  Make sure you hang on to that insert even if you do not usually purchase P&G products, because there are always some great deals to be had using those coupons, especially at the various drug stores.

What deals will you be getting at CVS this week?

If you blog about them, you can link them up at Simply CVS.  If you have not been yet, you can also check out everyone's shopping trips there for more ideas to help you out.  I'll be linking this trip up there, also.

they have rebate offers pretty regularly where if you get like $50 worth of their products they will send you one. They have also have some offers on their website occasionally. I can't remember if I was able to post about the last one or not, but if I see another I will try to. Sometimes when they offer samples they come with coupons also.

Try pgbrandsampler.com and everydaysolutions.com (they offer a big booklet of mostly cleaning supplies every few months). Hope that helps!

If you are really worried about the cashier taking off too much for BOGO coupons be sure to hand them your CVS card 1st! This way all items will show the sale price as they get rung up.

If the CVS card is given in the middle of the transaction the savings from the sales come off in one 'lump' at the end. When your receipt prints the system makes the corrections.

Hope that helps.

Thank you. That does help. This time I had it in my hand ready to hand to her but she still started scanning items first. My daughter was unloading.
