Getting Organized Update

I've been pretty quiet this weekend, but I promised I would share my progress in getting organized.  I do not have any pictures for you tonight, and I have not yet had the opportunity to tackle my pantry and freezers and reorganize those like I had wanted to, but I was able to thoroughly clean out my hall closet where our water heater is.  There is some storage space in there above my head, and there were a few items that had gotten pushed to the back and I did not know existed.  I reorganized what was in there, leaving only lightbulbs and items to clean the floor (as that is also where the mops/brooms are kept).  I pulled out another bottle of laundry detergent and a couple toilet cleaners that I thought I was out of, so that was a good thing to find. =)

I am pleased with myself that I was able to stay on top of the dishes and the laundry all week long, and my coupons are all clipped/put away for the week as well.

I was also able to do a deep cleaning on one of our bathrooms on Saturday, and I even read a book this week! (stayed up way too late last night finishing it, but that early bedtime is another item on my list of things to work on!)

I'm going to continue with my goal of keeping up with the dishes/laundry/coupons for another week (remember I'm trying to make it a habit that comes naturally).

I thought I was going to have family visiting this week, so I had plans to tackle lots of things while grandparents played with my children, but my mother in law had to be put back in the hospital (her health has been pretty unstable lately, so say a prayer for her if you would!), and they were not able to come.

My main goal for this week is to have everything pretty much in order around here and a menu planned and ready to be thawed/heated for the weekend, because I am going on a Women's Retreat with my church over the weekend, and my husband has taken off from his second job to stay home with our girls for the weekend. I want to do my best to help everything run smoothly for him while I'm gone (ie. we have all the groceries we need and the books have been returned to the library, etc.).

This might put my "being organized" to the test, but I think I'm up to this small challenge. =)

How are things going for you?

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL, and I surely hope she is out of the hospital by now.

It sounds like you are doing great with your organization. I have to tackle my kitchen table/office, but it seems like I am constantly doing so....the boxes just keep on coming in.

This weekend I am hoping to have a yard sale, if the weather is nice. I am not counting on earning much, but I need to get rid of some of the clutter...especially before Christmas.

My "office" is in the corner of the kitchen, so I'm forever having to tackle the table too. have to move the homework and the markers to have dinner LOL. I want to have a yard sale too, but my husband doesnt think its worth the time, and he works two jobs so it would be really hard to plan without his help. Good luck with yours!
