Shopping Trip 8/2 Aldi and Tom Thumb

I had been planning on going to Tom Thumb ever since the ad began last wednesday.  I had my coupons gathered and everything.  I'm not sure if it was not wanting to drag my kids out in this heat or what, but I kept putting it off.  There were several other things that we were running low on that I kept putting off getting, also.

Well today I decided I could not put it off any more.  For one thing, the sale at Tom Thumb was ending, and for another thing, we were down to our last roll of toilet paper!  I planned to go this morning with my girls, but it didn't happen.  I planned to go as soon as my husband got home, but he had to work late and then it was dinner time.  So I went out by myself after dinner.

First, I stopped in Aldi to pick up this week's necessities (yes, the chocolate was a necessity!):

Total:  $34.21 with tax  (there is a large bag of cat food and a 18 double roll pack of TP under there).

Then I went on to Tom Thumb armed with a ton of coupons to go along with their in-ad coupons.  However, when I looked closely I saw that half of the in-ad coupons that I wished to use were from a four day only sale that lasted Friday-Monday so they expired yesterday.

I still grabbed a handful of things that were awesome deals while I was in there:
Total Shelf Price:  $24.54
Total Sale Price:   $14.94  39% Savings Already
Price Paid After Coupons:  $8.35   66% Savings

Plus, what really surprised me is the size of the Pine-Sol that was on sale.  I thought it was going to be the small bottle that was on sale, but it ended up being the large bottle, and after my coupons I paid $0.49 each for them.  Good thing, too!  Two year olds make frequent mopping quite necessary. ;)
