Aldi Trip 9/18

After going to CVS today, I made a quick trip to Aldi.  It had been a really long time since I had been shopping for normal everyday needs.  Two full weeks, I think, just having my husband stop one time for milk and bread.  So, we had run out of several things, and I had a pretty lengthy list.

Here is everything I got today:

Total Spent:  $63.39

I stocked up on some cherry tomatoes at $0.69 each.  I plan to make some more freezer salsa.  It was delicious!  I also grabbed 4 packs of strawberries at $0.99 each.  They were getting *very* ripe, so I knew they wouldn't last long, but we had just used the last we had in the freezer, so I came home and cut them up and froze them right away (after my kids had some fresh as a snack!).

I also stocked up on some freezer items for lunches:  burritos, pot pies, chicken nuggets, fish fillets, etc. as well as several other things we had run out of around the house.

Some of the prices of items had gone up, I noticed. Two in particular were the eggs ($1.09--was $0.99), and the ranch dressing ($1.29--was $1.19).  10 cents here and there may not seem like much, but when every item you normally buy goes up 10 cents and you buy this many items, that can end up tacking on several dollars to your total.  I actually opted not to buy sugar at Aldi because it had gone up to $2.09, and I recalled it being on sale for $1.77..I thought at El Rio Grande (which I plan to shop tomorrow..i think), but it was actually at El Rancho.  Too many prices floating around in my head, I suppose.
