E-Coupons

The newest type of coupon is the e-coupon.  These are special coupons that are loaded right to your shopper card for various stores.  You go shopping and scan your card just as you normally would, and when your order is totalled the e-coupons for the items you bought are automatically deducted.   The greatest thing about e-coupons is that most stores will allow you to use a paper coupon also, so these give you the opportunity for extra savings.  Here are some of the websites that offer e-coupons.

  • Cellfire.com offers a new set of coupons every couple weeks.  The coupons are store specific, so you will have to load any you want for each store you wish to shop at.  In my area, Kroger and Tom Thumb both participate in this program.  The site also has categories other than grocery, in which you may get coupon codes sent to your cell phone.

  • Shortcuts.com is another site that also offers a frequently updated list of coupons.  These coupons are not store specific, so you load them once, and if you use one at one store it is removed from all cards.  Some coupons have restrictions that they are only good at certain participating stores, however.

  • Proctor & Gamble eSaver is another site that offers coupons on proctor and gamble brand products.  I hope you have more luck with this that I did.  These were available for Kroger near me, but they stopped accepting them a few months back, so now when I input my zipcode it says no coupons are available in my area. =(

  • Upromise.com also has a set of e-coupons available each month.  These work a little bit different than the others.  Instead of taking the savings off of your item total, the value of these coupons gets deposited into your Upromise savings account.  The new coupons are available on the 1st of each month, and expire on the last day of the month, so be sure to activate them early so you have longer to redeem them.  Just a note:  once you check all of the coupons you wish to activate (I recommend doing them all, just in case), be sure to click on activate coupons on the right hand side of the page!
  • Some grocery store chains may also have their own set of e-coupons, so be sure to check your favorite store.  Kroger.com has several available to download to your shopper card.  These do not update very often I have found, but there have been some really good ones available through here.

  • Zavers.com is a new one that I just found out about.  No stores in my area participate.  Here are the stores that do:
  • A&P
  • Waldbaum's
  • Superfresh
  • The Food Emporium
  • Pathmark
  • Cooke's
  • Harris Teeter
