Target Trip 10/13 54% Savings

This week I've been hanging around the house cleaning up and getting ready to go on my retreat.  Today, I just needed to get out of the house.  My youngest daughter needed some new tennis shoes, so I decided to make a trip to Target.  Since I was going, I flipped through my coupons really fast and pulled out a few high value ones that I thought might make for good deals at Target.  I didn't end up using very many of them (I was honestly appaled at some of the prices I saw there--I know those items go on sale for less at the grocery stores!), but I did find some pretty good clearance finds, even some shorts that my husband was in desperate need of.

Here is what I ended up with:

=)  That made for a pretty peaceful trip until I had to wake her up to get to the pants!

Here is everything I bought:

Merona Khaki Dress Pants  $9.99  (50% off)
Merona Khaki Cargo Shorts  $3.75  (75% off)
Wrangler Blue jean Shorts    $3.24  (75% off)
Girls Shoes   $9.99 (shelf price...there were the cheapest ones, and one of the cutest if you ask me!)
Shower Curtain  $2.12  (75% off)
Girls Tights  $0.48 each for the colored ones (75% off)
Girls Pantyhose 2 pack  $0.98  (75% off)
2 Suave Kids 3 in 1 (Biggest bottle there)  @  $2.99 each.  Used BOGO coupon from 10/2 RP
Bengay  4oz  $5.99.  Used $5/1 from 9/11 SS
Hormel Kids   $1.79  Used $1/1 printable (no longer available)
Crispies Cat Treats   $1.47   Used $1/1 from 8/21 SS
Crave Cat Treats   $1.59  Used FREE coupon from 9/18 RP
2 Nivea Lip Gloss (Bonus Packs with 2 for the price of one!!!)  on sale $2.50 each.  Used  $3/2 from 10/2 RP   (Probably my favorite deal!  Paid $2 for both 2 packs, so that's $0.50 per lip gloss.)

Total Shelf Price:  $96.08
Total Sale/Clearance Price:  $58.03

Price Paid After Coupons:  $40.96 + $3.05 tax =  $44.01    54% Savings

Not too bad considering just the three pants should have cost more than that.  Plus I'm stocked up on kid shampoo for a while....you know unless they decided to dump these out too....;)

Target Trip 9/16: CLEARANCE!

After seeing several posts yesterday about some AWESOME clearance prices at Target on Frugality Is Free  (Link goes to homepage, scroll down to see them), I decided that I absolutely had to hit Target today.  Plus, I just kinda felt like getting out of the house.

I found all the same clearance prices that she had found at her store, and I was able to get a ton of useful things for very little money!

Here is everything I got today:

Total Shelf Price:  $133.33
Price Paid:  $35.79    73% Savings!!

The educational items in the dollar spot were all marked down to $0.30 each, so I was able to grab a ton of workbooks and flashcards that will help my daughter as she has just started Kindergarten and is learning how to read.
Also, you can see theDisney lunch containers and thermos sitting in the corner (Tangled and Tinkerbell).  Those were priced at $2.50 in the Dollar spot, and ringing up just $0.75 each.

I also picked up 20 packs of filler paper, 10 wide-ruled and 10 college-ruled.  These were marked down to just $0.18 per pack, so I thought that was a good stock up price!

I also took a look at the remaining backpacks that were 75% off, and I found this adorable shoulder bag marked down to just $5.24 (was $20.99).  This is going to be my new purse/diaper bag.  It's got plenty for room for snacks and water and activities in it as well, since it is meant to hold a laptop.  And you know, purple *is* my favorite color.  =)

I also picked up several planter pots that were marked down in the garden department.
The long ones were $1.87 each, marked down from $7.49.
The large ones were $1.37 each, marked down from $5.99.
The medium (green) ones were $0.62 each, marked down from $2.49.
The small ones were $0.37 each, marked down from $1.49.

I can't wait to do some gardening!

I also got myself a tank top that was $2.25 marked down from $9.00.

This is really all the shopping I did this week.  All we really needed from the store was milk, eggs, and bread, so I had my husband stop and grab those on his way home one day.

Did you have some great savings this week?  Leave a comment about them, or if you made a post about it, link it up below!

Target Trip 3/28

I had to make a trip to Target today to pick up a prescription for my husband.  We transferred it there because I had a $10 Gift Card coupon to use and it was expiring today.  I also had a $5 gift card that came in the mail last week from taking an online survey.  So, I went in knowing that I was going to have $15 of their money to spend.

I know there are usually some great deals to be had at Target, so as I was organizing my coupons last night, I pulled out a big stack of coupons that I was going to just check the price on while I was there.  I'm not sure if it was just a bad week for deals or what, but I didn't really find that many today.  What I did find, though, was exactly what I was needing to get.  The coupons I had on hand made the name brands that I prefer cheaper than the store brands that I usually settle for, and after my gift cards, I left there paying under $2 out my my own pocket, so I would say it was a pretty productive trip.

Here is what I came home with:

Shelf/Sale Price:  $27.44  (The original prices are not shown on my receipt, only the sale prices.)
Price After Coupons:  $16.88
Price Paid After Gift Cards:  $1.88

Coupons Used:
--$2/1 Purina Cat Food Printable (made it $9.99, and the store brand was just over $10)
--$2/1 Got2b from April All You (My husband's favorite and he hasn't had any for a LONG time!  Coupon made it just $1.49.)
--$4/1 Vicks Sinex from P&G insert (made it $1.99 and the store brand without the menthol was $1.97)
--AND Get Free Puffs wyb Vicks from P&G insert (I also had a Target store coupon that was in a coupon insert for $0.50/1 Puffs, but those are very regional so I'm not sure who all got it).
--$1/1 Flintstones from either 1/2 SS or 3/20 SS AND $2/1 Target Store Coupon Printable  (made it $3 and it was a bonus bottle with 75 instead of 60.  The store brand cost over $4 for 60, and these taste much better).

I'm very pleased with being able to use the gift cards for these items, because the cat food especially usually takes a large chunk out of our budget, and vitamins have gotten ridiculously expensive, too.  Whenever I have a credit like that to use, I try to get the things that I am running out of and will cost the most, so the credit covers that and less of it comes out of my pocket.  This trip is a very good example of being able to do just that!

How do you save money on costly necessities?  Do you have pets?  Have you altered their diet to save money?  I would love to hear.  No more Iams for my puppies!  LOL

Target Trip 2/19--72% Savings

I posted earlier about the Pedialyte coupon that I had found, and that was my main reason for going to Target today.  I didn't want to waste a trip to Target without grabbing some of the great deals I knew I could get there, since I hadn't been in a LONG time.  So I pulled together a few coupons I already had clipped and I took my older daughter along with me.

We went and picked up the Pedialyte and some more diapers first.  (I normally use cloth, but I've been opting for disposables until the GI issues subside.  I hate viruses.)  After that we made a pass through the clothing clearance racks.  I found this dress shirt for my husband 75% off:

We did not find anything else of note in the clothing departments, unless you want to count the pair of black lacy thong panties that my 4 year old snatched up and held in the air and loudly pronounced them 'so cute'.  Those were not purchased.

I was making my way over to the grocery side of the store when this caught my eye:
My daughter's walls are pretty bare so I thought this would be perfect!  She loved it, and it's not often you find artwork this cheap.

I went and bought the few other items that I needed/had coupons for.  I had been sent a home mailer from Target filled with store coupons that stated "$xx off ANY BRAND of_____" I used those on the produce (I had $1 off each for fresh fruit and fresh vegetables) and bread and they made them free or nearly so.  I also used my $5/1 Maalox coupons from the 1/9 SS and my $1/1 Friskies cat treats from the 1/23 SS and the coupons for Oscar Meyer Carving Board meat that I told you about here.  I also used my FREE coupons for the Purina One Beyond pet food.  My friend sent me hers (Thanks, Tracy!) so I was able to try both the dog and cat formulas.

Here is everything else that I actually went there for (not pictured is a large jug of cat litter that did not make it into the picture for some reason):

Before I left, I decided to swing by the Valentine's clearance, and boy am I glad I did!  The signs in the area read 75% off.  I was able to get all of this stuff to put away for later for just $9.06!

All of the above pictures should have cost me  $142.20, but with all coupons and discounts I spent only  $39.11 including tax!  That is a 72% Savings!

I was still feeling a bit guilty about buying all of the extras until my husband texted me on the way to the checkout to say that our income tax refund had hit the bank. =)  A good morning all around.  Now if only this virus would go away...=/

New Target Printable Coupons

While you are over at the Target website checking out their new free samples, check out the new printable coupons they have listed, too.  They have plenty of coupons for their store brand items available, so you can get them even cheaper than they already are.  They also have some Kraft and General Mills coupons available.   The Kraft coupons are Target store coupons, which can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even better deals.  The General Mills coupons are manufacturer coupons that print without the Target logo on them, so they can be used at any store.  I printed a few that I plan to use along with those Catalina deals at Tom Thumb!

New Target Printable Coupons

There are ALOT of new coupons that have just been released at the Target website.  Many of these are store coupons that can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even more savings.  There are also many available at the moment for their Up & Up store brand items, which cost less to begin with.  There are also a few coupons for $2- $3 off certain clothing items or accessories.  Think clearance!  One is for $3 off a Merona dress, and I know I saw some of these on clearance last time I was there!

I love deal shopping at Target, but since they closed down my nearest (non-Super) Target, I haven't been getting there nearly as often.  When I do, I usually try to plan a trip around getting one of my husbands prescriptions filled, so I can use a $10 pharmacy gift card coupon that is often available in their sales ad.  This brings my cost down even further!

My Target Trip 8/28

This is all the stuff I came home with today.  Total spent was $14.00  I was getting my husband's meds filled, and had a coupon to get a free $10 gift card with that, so the total is after I used the gift card.  The shelf price was over $75!!

I used alot of store coupons that I had printed about a month ago and they were expiring today.  (Included in those were $3 off a pair of Merona shoes, and I found a pair in my size clearanced for $4.37, so I paid only $1.37 for a nice pair of black leather sandals!)

The Ball Park hot dogs were $2.04, so after the $2 off facebook coupon I told you about, they were 4 cents each!  A friend also told me that she used her's at Wal-Mart, where they were on rollback for $2, making them free.  (Thanks, Tracy!)

I just got two new puppies, and they like to chew on everything!  So I dug out all of my dog treat coupons, many of which were BOGO, and I think I'm stocked up for a while.  They had no problems with me using a coupon for the item I was "buying" with the BOGO coupons either, so I got some great deals with those.  I paid less than $6 for all 9 packs of pet treats.  I also had BOGO coupons for the Stayfree pads and the Kikkoman.

I will also be submitting for two rebates, both for free items, not cash back.  The first is a Kikkoman rebate where you get one of three products free (a grilling brush, a grocery tote, or an apron-item chosen at random) when you buy 3 Kikkoman products.  Hurry!  This one must be purchased by August 31 and postmarked by September 15.  The second is a Band-Aid Rebate where you get a free first aid kit buy mail when you purchase 3 participating products (Neosporin and Purell also included).

So this is what I spent 2 1/2 child free hours on my Saturday morning doing.  How about you?

It started off a frugal day...and then there I was, couponless in Target.

It started off an ordinary summer day.  My husband, who teaches, has one more week home with us before his meetings start up.  This morning he decided to whip us up some French toast.  It's one of our favorites.  Then, I remembered that the Just Between Friends consignment sale was going on right now.

If you are in the Dallas area, it is being held at the Resistol Rodeo Arena in Mesquite.  If you live elsewhere, check the link to see if they are having one near you.  This event is huge!  They do it twice a year, and it is totally used baby/child gear/maternity clothes/anything kid-related that you could ever think of.  I have gotten several Halloween outfits for my older daughter there, so I decided we should go check it out.

I did not have any luck with the costumes, and since they both just had birthdays on top of a family visit, gifts of new clothing were plentiful, so there wasn't much we needed.  I did come across a cute sweater for my 4 year old daughter.  She had gotten several summer dresses, so this will match nicely with them when the weather gets cooler.  It looks brand new, and only cost me $4.  I also got her some slippers, as you can see.

When we left there, it was lunch time, but my husband needed some new work pants, so we decided to go look a few places while we were out, so we got fast food which ended up costing $16.  I cringed handing the money over, but it is not a common occurrence for us anymore.

After lunch, we went to three places looking for khakis:  Old Navy, Marshall's, and Target.  We lucked up at Marshall's, finding a $40 pair of pants on the clearance rack marked down to just $10.
In fact, they had more clothes clearanced than not, it seemed.  So, if you are looking for something specific and have a Marshall's nearby, it might be a good place to check out.  This was definitely a great find.

On to Target, where we had no luck on pants, but while we were there my husband recalled that they had their 1-subject notebooks on sale for just $0.15 each.  He has a lot of students who can't afford supplies, so he bought 100 of these.  The manager was more than happy to bring him out two whole cases from the back.

I'm glad he was able to snag this great price and stock up on some notebooks for his kids in need, but I was also beating myself up for not having my coupons with me (or even organized in general!).  There are always great deals to be had at Target--especially when you stack manufacturer coupons with their store coupons-- and I had just said yesterday that I needed to get my stuff together and make a trip over to one.  *sigh*  Oh well, I guess you can't be prepared for an unplanned trip all the time.  But to make matters worse, we passed right by Kroger on the way home, and I knew they had shredded cheese on sale, and we were out.  So my husband let me run in there to get some cheese, so twice today I found myself lamenting my lack of coupons. Sad, I know.  Am I just pathetic, or would you guys feel the same way?

I've completely gotten over it, and I'm happy about the deals that we did get today.  My plans for the evening?  Work on getting these coupons in order.

Healthy Choice coupon and Target Deal

Click here to print a coupon for $1/2 Healthy Choice frozen meals.  Come back and reclick the link to print it twice (the back button didnt work for this one).

Target has these on special this week.  When you purchase 4 you get a fifth one free.  I also have a Target store coupon that came in one of the coupon inserts recently (I'm not sure which insert but it exp. 7/23) for $2/5 healthy choice frozen meals.  Target store coupons can vary greatly by region, so you may or may not have gotten this one.  This is a pretty good deal without the store coupon, but a really great deal with it.

Buy 5 Healthy Choice frozen meals  (prices will vary, the lowest priced one is free)
Use 2 $1/2 coupon above
AND use $2/5 Target store coupon

Prices will vary, but you will save $4 total or $1 off each one that you pay for and get one free meal.

Coupon Insert of Target STORE coupons

Look closely for this insert in your Sunday newpaper.  It is full of Target store coupons, which target allows to be stacked with manufacturer coupons.  That means you can use these AND manufacturer coupons for extra savings.  I found this in the Dallas Morning News, and Target coupons are very variable by region, so let me know if you found one of these in your area.
