Using Swagbucks To Stock Up For Cold Season
It seems like every fall and winter allergies and colds take their toll on me. I had been told by several people that I should try using a neti pot, so I finally did, and it really, really did help. But, those little salt packets that they use are pretty expensive!
This is where Swagbucks comes in! I always redeem my Swagbucks for Amazon gift cards. I love Amazon because you can get pretty much anything you need, delivered right to you door (saving you time and gas), and they have very reasonable prices, sometimes the best.
I am running low on my salt solution for my neti pot, so I purchased some on Amazon.
Using my certificates I earned from Swagbucks, however, I was able to get them for FREE!
So now, I will be all stocked up on this for cold season. These may seem pretty expensive, but when I consider the fact that since I began using this product, I haven't gotten my annual sinus infection that put me on antibiotics, it has actually saved me money on doctor bills and prescriptions. =)
I will also be using my Swagbucks to purchase Christmas gifts again this year. What will you be using your Swagbucks for? Read more...

Repost: Swagbucks Tips
This is a post I wrote around the beginning of the year, with a few tips for making the most of Swagbucks. I've had some people asking, so I thought I would repost this. Let me know if you have any questions or comments or if you know that something has changed, and I will get it fixed! Thanks!
If you do not yet have a Swagbucks account, you may register here.
If you have already registered with swagbucks and never use it, I thought I would share a few insights with you. First of all, I was just like that. I registered with Swagbucks the first time I heard about it, and then promptly forgot all about it. I must have not returned or ever used it for at least a year! Then one day I was chatting with a friend of mine (Hi, Tracy!) who told me how great the site was. Well, after that I went and tried to register again, only to be told that I already had an account. Now, I think back to all the Swagbucks I could have made! Maybe you signed up after seeing my post about how I used Swagbucks to pay for all of my kids' Christmas presents (if not, click through and check it out!) *Note* I'm going to be doing it again!*, but you haven't been using Swagbucks for your searches. If so, then this post is for you!
I think that the main thing that stopped me from using Swagbucks was that I did not really understand how it worked. Perhaps at that time, they also did not have all the nice features they have today. I'm not sure about that. I was under the impression that the only way you could earn points was to go to their page first everytime you wanted to conduct a search, and certainly that is one way to do it! I just didn't have the time, or never thought to do that. I think that is the main thing that hinders people from using Swagbucks more than they do. For this reason I wanted to offer a couple of tips that I have learned that make searching using Swagbucks a lot easier.
- If you use Internet Explorer, download the toolbar! I do not think this was an option when I first signed up. This toolbar puts a search box right at the top of your window. Just type your search in the box and you are done. The toolbar also now awards you at least 1 Swagbuck each day, and sometimes as many as 3. That's at least 365 FREE points a year! Plus, there is a message icon on the toolbar. Sometimes the messages contain special Swagcodes that are only available on the toolbar.
- If you use Google Chrome (I recently switched to this browser from Internet Explorer *Note* LOVE Chrome, and my new blog redesign looks so much cooler in Chrome, just sayin'....), the browser bar at the top is optimized for Swagbucks. I did not have to do anything special to make this work. Whenever you begin typing, a list will drop down. One of the options will say "Swag Bucks Customized Web Search" next to it. Arrow down to this option, and you are using Swagbucks to search. Simple as that. (If you can't get this to work, there are instructions under toolbars on the swagbucks page)
- "Search" for the websites you are going to! You do not have to be "searching" for something to search. You can know exactly where you want to go. I cannot even tell you how many times I have won Swagbucks for typing in "facebook"or something of the sort. If you do not already do this, this can make a huge difference! Think about how many webpages you visit in a day!
- Refer your friends! When they win, you win! ;)
- When you see a post that there is a Swagcode, go find it! There is a box on the swagbucks homepage to paste these in, and then press the "gimme" button, and voila! Free points. Usually these are pretty straightforward in a post on their blog, but sometimes they make it a little harder and send you on a hunt. Don't kill yourself trying to find them if they are not in plain view, you know unless you just have a ton of time to kill and you are bored. ;) Also, never post a code you find. They will block your account. You can only hint at where to find it.
- Explore the website! There are surveys you may qualify to take, special daily offers that are always changing, and partner offers that you can earn Swagbucks for signing up. They may be things you were already planning on doing.
- Shop through Swagbucks! This is new, and dagnabbit I keep forgetting about it every time I buy something online! I could have had 60 points from buying my girls Christmas dresses from Kohl's. =/
- Print coupons from Swagbucks. This is new also, and you only get the points after the coupons are redeemed. It is very hard to keep track of since the coupons look just like the coupons you print from coupons.com, but I will let you know if I notice that I have been credited for them.

If you haven't signed up yet, you may do so HERE. You will get 30 (I believe) just for signing up to get you started.
Swagbucks can be redeemed for many different items, including Amazon gift cards, which is what I always get. You only need 450 to get $5 to spend on Amazon (don't save up for the $25 ones or you will actually spend over 500 SB per $5, the smallest one is the best value!)
Good luck! Read more...

Mega Swagbucks Fridays and How Much I've Won!
I just wanted to remind everyone that Friday's are Mega Swagbucks Days. This means that you can win larger amounts of Swagbucks in a single search, so make sure you are doing all of your searching through Swagbucks tomorrow, and always!
I know many people out there might think that these search and win sites are a big waste of time because they do not amount to much, but I would like you to know that is not true of Swagbucks. Most other sites like this, I gave up on myself, but this one I have stuck with and will continue to use it every day. Want to know why? Since February 17th of last year (the date I redeemed my first prize, which didn't take that long!), I have redeemed 38 prizes from the Swagstore. All of them have been $5 Amazon certificates, so that means in just over a year I've gotten $190 in FREE Amazon money to spend, just from using the internet as I normally would! I've even shared before how I paid for all of my kids Christmas gifts this past year using Swagbucks, and I'm saving up to do it again!
If you have not yet signed up for Swagbucks, and would like to give it a try, you can sign up HERE. New members get 30 free Swagbucks to begin with, and a $5 Amazon gift card only costs 450 SB.
Also, just a little tip from me, I've had good luck winning large amounts not just on Fridays, but late at night any day of the week. It has not been uncommon for me to do a search just past midnight and win upwards of 20 Swagbucks. Can any other night owls out there attest to this?
Also, if you ever want to know if there is a Swag Code available, you can check the widget down at the very bottom of my page. If there is one, it will tell you a hint where you can find it.
Good luck! Read more...

Great Wipes Deal on Amazon.com
I wanted to let you guys in on this deal that I just bought for myself. I was running low on wipes, and there never seem to be really great stock up prices on these at the stores. It's really hard to get the big refill pack (which is the most economical, usually) for under $5, so when I saw this I definitely went for it.
Right now, Huggies Soft Skin Shea Butter Baby Wipes Popup Refill, 184-Count Pack (Pack of 3) is priced at just $17.78, which is $5.93 for each pack....about the usual sale price.
However, if you are an Amazon Mom member (click to sign up if you aren't), you get 15% off. If you also buy it through Subscribe and Save (you can cancel at any time), you get an additional 15% off, which brings the total down to just $12.45, and Subscribe and Save purchases always have FREE shipping (it would have been $12.31 for this item!!!!).
This price makes each pack only $4.15 each refill pack (or $1.38 each single pack if you prefer to think about it that way), and it will be delivered to your door for free in just a few days!
Of course what makes it even better is that I had gift cards available to use from Swagbucks, so I actually paid nothing at all. ;)
If you would like to get this deal, I suggest you hurry, as Amazon prices fluctuate randomly. This price was only for this particular variety of Huggies. The other varieties were priced higher, but I'm not that picky.

What's Going On Today?
There are a few things going on today that I wanted you guys to be aware of:
First, if you were able to request that Mission Tortilla Chips coupon from their facebook page offer last week, they reached their goal. You may go to www.missioncoupons.com, input your email (which it should recognize if you entered it before) and print your coupon. It is a printable PDF coupon for a FREE bag of mission tortilla chips, which I know that many, many stores are not going to accept. Myself and several others told them as much on their facebook page, but if you were able to enter last week, and you want to give it a try, then go print your coupon. *Note* there were many people saying that they got a message that their email address was not recognized. Mine went through ok, but it sounds like they were having some issues, just so you know.
Second, Cellfire.com is having another special coupon giveaway today. Log into your account, and you should see a coupon for some amount between $0.50 and $3 that you have "won" and is available to load to your shopper card. More stores than just Kroger affiliates are participating this time (in the small print at the bottom of the image above, which is the banner that should show up at the top of the page when you log in). I have both Kroger and Tom Thumb participating in my area, but I only "won" a $0.50 coupon for Tom Thumb. There was not one under Kroger.
Finally, I just wanted to remind everyone that Fridays are Mega Swagbucks days! You are able to win larger Swagbuck values from searches on Fridays, so do all of your searching with swagbucks today (and always!). You can read my tips for getting the most out of Swagbucks and see what they were able to do for me. If you still haven't signed up, you may do so here.
Sorry to make these all into one post, but things have still been a little crazy around here. My mother in law is still in the hospital, but they are letting her go today. Thank you to anyone who had prayed for her! Read more...
